I love to draw, and whenever possible I help other people to draw more confidently and competently. I currently divide my time between my home in North Wales and a heroic tower block studio in Brighton, where I run a small drawing school called Draw. At Draw I work with an amazing team of tutors and life models to run drawing courses and affordable drop-in life drawing sessions, accessible to everybody; I am also a co-director of 'The Drawing Circus', running themed drawing events in unusual locations.

Alongside my teaching I write books about drawing, a monthly article for Artist & Illustrators magazine and lecture on the applications of drawing as a tool for communication, artmaking and as a vehicle for social good. I'm also undertaking a long term study into the fundamental processes of drawing and have just set up a lithography press in my studio, which I'm currently learning to print on.

Right now I am working most regularly with West Dean College, Draw, The Drawing Circus, Cass Art, Derwent Pencils and The Camden Arts Centre.

In the past I have worked with The National Portrait Gallery, Daily Life Ltd, ITV, BBC, Brighton University, The Big Draw, Art Macabre, BHCC, The Old Market Theatre, The Sallis Benney Theatre, The Entente, Creative Futures, The Pantry Project, Brighton & Hove Museums and RAM. Below is a rough timeline of some things I have been involved in; get in touch if you want a chat.
